Xavier Nazario

Through WIL’s partnership with ESO-Ventures, Xavier is currently guiding six community colleges to reconnect with underserved populations by establishing a region-wide network of incubators to serve their neighboring communities of color and empower black and brown entrepreneurs.

Nazario previously served in a critical workforce development role as Regional Director of Employer Engagement for the California Community Colleges solving the workforce challenges of SF Bay Area companies and small businesses. Driven by a mission to broaden access for community college students to secure living-wage employment, he identified and fostered partnerships to develop and operationalize numerous innovative programs.

Though he particularly values his time as a Business Instructor working directly with students to instill good business principles and foster entrepreneurial ideals, Nazario has held several leadership positions in K-12 and Higher Education over the past 15 years.

As the first in his family to graduate from college, Nazario holds two bachelor’s degrees from Santa Clara University, one in Business and the other in Philosophy, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of San Francisco. Nazario is inherently curious and has deep interests in equity, education technology, instructional design, project management, negotiation, real estate, and design thinking.

Nazario lives in Santa Rosa, California, with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys hiking, exploring new restaurants, and fostering a love of learning about science, business, and art in his daughters. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he learned to play the piano and developed a greater appreciation for California’s climate, natural beauty, and open spaces.
